Turn On Manual Focus

Why might you need manual focus?

Normally, you should start with Auto Focus (by tapping the "AF" button) before shooting. If the image appears out of focus after running AF, you can try auto focus again, or simply switch to manual focus mode.

Manual focus is available in Stargazing, Solar System, and Scenery modes. For example, in Landscape mode:

Enter Landscape mode to open the imaging screen.

Tap on your desired subject to ensure a focus box appears around it.

Tap the "F" (Focus) button on the right to open the focus control panel.

Use the Up and Down buttons to adjust the focus manually.

Tips:

The manual focus control has two buttons: Up and Down. If you're unsure which one to press, just pick one. If the image becomes more blurred, press the opposite button. Continue adjusting until the subject is sharp.

In both Scenery and Solar System modes, always tap the target object first so that a focus box appears on the screen before using AF or MF.
