First Hands-On with the Seestar S30 Pro: Sharper, Faster, Simply Incredible——Pecskaine Varga Ilona's Experiences and comparison with S30 and S50

"I'm the first Seestar S30 Pro owner in Hungary.

The Seestar S30 Pro is quick and easy to set up, just like the S30 and S50: the system is ready to use in minutes, and the handling remains user-friendly. It is the same size as the S30, the only visual difference is the “Pro” inscription on the housing, so the portability and compact design remain unchanged.

In terms of imaging, the Pro version is a significant step forward. The future of astrophotography. The images are sharper, clearer and more detailed. In practice, the S30 Pro produces roughly the same field of view at 4x magnification as the S30 at 2x magnification, while maintaining a wider field of view, resulting in a more natural look. In landscape mode, the wide-angle camera provides a lifelike live view, the movement of clouds and details of the sky appear as if you were looking at them with the naked eye.
Even in cloudy weather, the S30 Pro performs reliably: it finds targets quickly and reliably, which greatly simplifies field use. The layering process is faster, so the final image is created in less time - a clear advantage during short observation periods. Thanks to the wide-angle cameras, the live image is almost identical to that seen in Landscape mode, so cloud movement and fine details appear naturally, just like with the naked eye.

For solar observation, the S30 Pro's wide-angle camera is fully covered and securely shielded, with a magnetic, curved and side-protected design, which provides extra safety when observing the Sun. In Landscape mode, bird watching and tracking other moving objects works just as reliably as on the standard S30.

When comparing the S30 Pro to the S30 and S50 models, the differences are clear: the S30 Pro offers superior image quality, sharpness and detail, a larger field of view at higher magnification, faster layering and more reliable target recognition, and its wide-angle cameras provide lifelike images, whether used for night sky or daytime observations. However, it is important to note that a truly objective comparison would only be possible if all three instruments – the S30, S30 Pro and S50 – had taken images simultaneously under identical conditions. Therefore, the current comparisons should be considered indicative rather than definitive and should be interpreted with this in mind.

After some short tests, the M42 became the target and the results are simply amazing! The base image is already much clearer and less noisy than the S30, but the Seestar live stack is incredible: almost completely noise-free, while retaining many fine details.

It is amazing to see what this little miracle can do. It is easy to take  quality shots with it. I am extremely satisfied with its performance and recommend it to everyone.

The Seestar S30 Pro really takes the experience to a new level.
