from 478 reviewsThe Seestar S50 is a great telescope for amateurs to view and photograph the night sky. It’s very easy to use. The solar filter is awesome for viewing the sun spots. A bonus of this scope is that the hardware is continuously updated as new features are added or improved. I’ve enjoyed capturing clear images of nebulas and galaxies, even the rings of Jupiter are visible! Huge bang for your buck for the price. Don’t hesitate if you’re on the fence, just buy it.

I’ve been dabbling in astrophotography for decades, from the film era up through CCDs. The S50 is really a game-changer. Produces great results right out of the box. My first M42 image was complete about 1 hour after unpacking it. Makes the hobby fun again when you can set the S50 outside and start imaging instantly. Work night & need to sleep or clouds set to roll in around 9PM? I would never get out the EQ mount and imaging rig on those occasions, but not an issue with the S50. I’ve imaged more in the last couple weeks with S50 than I have in the last two years with my old gear. Wish I’d bought one sooner!

Easy to use, and good results with the standard features
The last version of the app with stacking and zoom out is a real must… instead of S30 a S100 could be cool to have a step behind in the image quality , with a larger camera and a larger lens too …

Order processing and delivery time were alright. The S50 is great for an astrophotography noob like me. Setup and handling are straightforward and it‘s incredible what you can achieve by stacking and editing manually. The S50 has shown me an aspect of natures beauty that lies hidden to the naked eye. Great Investment overall!

I've really been amazed and impressed with the pictures I've been capturing of deep sky objects with this little scope. I has exceeded all my expectations and I look forward to learning how to use it better to have even better results.

I ordered the SeeStar during the busy holiday season and got it delivered on the first week of January and am so happy with the purchase
The device has been fun to use right out of the box and has got software updates since I got it to make it even better...
The support during the ordering process was helpful and delivery very quick once the order was shipped...
I definitely recommend this for any lever of user who is even slightly interested in stars

I have had 7 scopes and sold most trading and seeking the next "best one".. A friend brought one of these to a "Sidewalk solar observation" we put together at the local farmers market to encourage interest. We were squinting, hand up blocking the sun trying to find it in our eye pieces and our buddy was standing in the shade observing within 1 minute on his Ipad with this Seestar that we'd never heard of. . Some of the guys that had been in the local astronomy club for 40 years ordered one. I opted for the Seestar S30 and received it 2 days ago. I had it up and capturing images in 30 min. It would have been 5 min. but I had to download the software and put on warm clothing. Because it's winter, it gets chilly, the Scope can sit next to my car while I'm inside with the heater keeping me alive and comfortable. I remotely control the Scope and in the summer, I won't have to face mosquitos. It has a long battery life and I love it. In order to get images before, I had to take many images, go home and stack them on the PC but this does it while we're watching. Look at the time signature. 3 min. for this quality of M 31 and 4 Min. for m 42. We're still in awe the next day. The Sun image was only a few seconds. NONE of these images are retouched, edited or manipulated. This is what was saved directly on the app from the scope. Astrophotography is now available to all people. BTW, I took these from my driveway, 50 feet from a street lamp. The entire scope etc. is the size of a lunch box. If you're in a wheelchair you can use this thing now. No lugging Mounts, Weights, Sensitive Optical tubes, boxes of cables , etc. I added the image with the $20.00 dollar bill to show you the scale of the telescope. Yes, that small box does all of that. We can now "Nerd out" in comfort and what took an entire night of images, dark frames, light frames calibration, culmination expense and almost frostbite conditions is now completely simple and fun. Astronomy clubs in each school should have these. Bravo Seestar, you've changed astrophotography and brought it to those that could never imagine being able to become involved. Thank you.

The Seestar S50 is an impressive device that provides a quick and effortless entry into astronomy. One of its standout features is its user-friendliness: within minutes, the smart telescope is ready to use, and its intuitive app control makes operation seamless, even for beginners.
This device opens up entirely new perspectives of the universe. It’s fascinating how easily it allows you to explore the depths of space, uncovering details of stars, nebulas, and galaxies that are hidden to the naked eye. For me, it marks the beginning of a journey to places I never imagined I could observe.
Another noteworthy aspect is its versatility. While primarily designed for astrophotography, the Seestar S50 is also suitable, to some extent, for landscape photography. It’s particularly exciting to see how it can beautifully combine terrestrial elements with celestial objects in a single frame.
The technical features, such as the built-in camera, automatic tracking, and app-controlled object alignment, work reliably and significantly enhance the joy of discovery. The image quality is exceptional for a device in this price range, whether capturing close-up views of the Moon or distant galaxies.
Overall, the Seestar S50 offers excellent value for money. It’s perfect for anyone looking to uncover the beauty of the night sky in an accessible and uncomplicated way—whether you’re a beginner or an experienced hobbyist. For me, it’s not just a device but a tool to fulfill my dream of delving deeper into the universe.
Conclusion:
The Seestar S50 is a fantastic companion for anyone eager to expand their horizons—whether gazing at the stars or photographing landscapes. I wholeheartedly recommend it and look forward to continuing my exploration of the vast universe with this remarkable telescope.

Le meme pour le planétaire

Super telescope. The software is very intuitive, and reveals very beautiful photos of nebulae, galaxies... it is an excellent go-to telescope which is entirely suitable for beginners 👍

I already have 2 astro cameras from zwo for my real telescope (celestron 9.25 xlt) and had no problem getting the seestar s50 because I knew it could only be the best quality. And it's really fun to photograph galaxies and nebulae with it, somewhere in a field with minimal light pollution. Your pictures are simply brilliant. Keep it up “ZWO/ASI”

I am very pleased with the Seestar S50. It is user-friendly and makes impressive photos. With the help of post-processing software, the results are even more remarkable.

This device is incredible; it gives you a portal into the night sky which were only accessible through online photographs. Watching the camera update with each exposure is almost like unwrapping a gift - you see piece by piece the sky coming together to form a deep space object from millions of light years away.
I’ve been taking it out at any chance I can get, waiting all night to see which new deep space objects and planets become available as the earth rotates.
I’m especially surprised at the planetary mode. Most of the comments seemed to indicate that they weren’t very good; however, it still gave me an eye into the inner and outer planets. It exceeded my expectations - sure, it’s not as good as a real telescope made to view planets, but for $500, it’s easily one of the most impressive devices I can think of that gives you a decent bang for your buck.
I wish more people knew about these because the good people at ZWO deserve commendation for such a delightful device.

I have had my S50 for 2 weeks now and have been able to view so many Nebulae and Galaxies! This scope definitely out performs what I thought it would. Well worth the price and the portability makes this a necessity when travelling.
