In astrophotography, a single video frame can be noisy and lack detail. Video stack overcomes this by combining hundreds or even thousands of frames, which dramatically boosts the signal-to-noise ratio and reveals far more detail, resulting in a much sharper and cleaner final image.
Here’s how to use Seestar’s Video Stack feature:
Prerequisite: Ensure your Seestar is powered on and connected to the app. The Video Stack feature is accessed through the Seestar Album.
From the home screen, go to My Album > Solar System Album and find your video file (identified by the “_video” suffix).
Open the target video you want to stack (Important: Stacking is only available for videos recorded with RAW format enabled.).
On the preview page, tap the “Stack” button in the upper right corner.
Seestar will automatically align and stack the frames from the video. This process takes some time, so please be patient.
After stacking is complete, tap "Check now". You will see a single, static image with richer detail and less noise, which is automatically saved in the same directory as the original video.
