Anyone who views the night skies and wants to take pictures of deep sky objects will tell you it's not cheap. So when I see something that costs $550 and will image something like the Dumbbell nebula, I have serious doubts. Lo and behold it does! Want to go to sleep while your system images multiple DSOs throughout the night? It does that too. It's going to be cloudy tonight but it's clear now, let's take a look at some sunspots!
If you live in a light polluted area, this thing has you covered as well. With a Bortle score of somewhere around 5-6, it can image the Whale Galaxy without any problems.
It sets up easy, just turn it on, put it on a flat surface and it'll figure out where it is, where it's pointing, and orientate itself. Just pick an object in it's Sky Atlas and it'll swing around, point to it, and start imaging. It is 100% the best $550 I've ever spent on astronomy equipment
This is exactly what I was hoping for. My partner and I spent hours in the dark watching stars and letting this little robot do her work, and the pictures so far are flawless. The app and social features are easy to use, as well as the unit itself, and it came packaged in an incredible carrying case.
I live in heavy city polluted skies, but this amazing scope can make your life so much easier! For those of you who are experienced astrophotographers, you can polar align in minutes, and slew to the target just by tapping on your phone. Most importantly, you have the power to stack your images using external software such as Siril giving you total control. I love this telescope.
