Domenico De Luca, a 41-year-old photographer from Ortona, Abruzzo, Italy, has been passionate about astrophotography for more than a decade. But three years ago, he stepped away from the hobby. Too much heavy equipment, too many nights of poor conditions, and the frustration of owning gear he couldn’t truly use eventually pushed him to sell everything. His love for the night sky never disappeared—it simply went quiet.
"My passion remained dormant for the whole time, until I noticed these new smart telescopes that slowly, timidly began to appear in stores. When the Seestar S30 came out, I realized that the path to smart telescopes was written... I didn't buy it immediately.
I was still following this hobby from afar. Until I met a friend again, Edoardo Perenich, who I mention in the photo I attached previously, president of the Chieti amateur astronomers association, and we started talking about the evolution of telescopes until we talked about the S30.
3 weeks passed and I bought my first smart telescope, the S30! I've basically had one for a month, and I even had the president buy one!!" Domenico said.
